This is the story of how Olive & Oak all begin.
I think we should first start off with a little more about ourselves. We're the Georgians, Husband, and wife with our two kids living just north of Austin, Tx. We weren't always in Texas in fact our story first started off in Southern California. Let's begin there.
Here is a short version of our love story:
Kyle and I meet when we were both 18 at church, however, the timing for us was just not right, let's just say God had a different plan for our lives in that moment. But little did we know that just 3 years later Kyle and I would re-connect at one of our mutual friends wedding on June 30th, 2012. After we reconnected at the wedding we have been inseparable. We have been dating for over a year at this time and on August 9th, 2013 Kyle asked me to marry him and on June 23rd, 2014 we tied the knot in oak glen, California and took a beautiful honeymoon in Grenada.
Since Kyle and I got married we celebrated our First anniversary in Barbados, bought and watched as our first house was being built, and found out we are expecting our first child. On September 9th, we welcomed our baby girl into this world. We celebrated her first birthday and are enjoying every moment of watching her grow. we sold our first house and moved into a 600 sq ft guest house that my brother-in-law owned. we renovated it and made it a home. we welcomed our second child, a son, born on july 17th.
sometime in between all that we bought five acres in La Cresta, California. We designed our floor plan from scratch and decided to open up an event venue called Olive & Oak. However, god had other plans and brought us here to texas. while olive & oak will no longer be a venue. it is however a part of us. from the very beginning of our relationship, Olive & Oak has been apart of our story.
So where did Olive & Oak come from?
Olive: Kyle and I would always go up to Oak Glen for family get-togethers where we would pass by our wedding venue every time without knowing. Our wedding venue was lined with olives trees and has so much more meaning
"i am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of god; i trust in gods unfailing love forever & ever"psalm 52:8
Oak: Kyle and I would hike the Santa Rosa Plateau in La Cresta where there were always oak trees. Kyle proposed to me on the plateau and we had 5 acres to create a venue Olive & Oak
"They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the lord for the display of his splendor."Isaiah 61:3
So where is Olive & Oak now? It is always a part of us it is everything we do. It is our brand for all things home design. From buying property, designing floor plans, and interior/exterior design. We hope you follow along on our journey to see where Olive & Oak will take us.
With love,
The Georgians
